Anyone got an idea how easy it is to replace the clutch on the fc?

Been quoted £130 to fit my exedy, but wanted to know how simple (or not) it is to do first

Cheers

its pretty simple. I did it with a mate on my drive.

you\'ll need a clutch alignment tool which is under a £10er, and some sort of ramps, unless you want to use axle stands but i don\'t trust them.

also you\'ll need a coule of strong people to help you lift the transmission, other than that its just a case of taking stuff off .

Exhaust off, heat shields off, prop shaft off, slave cylinder off, if you\'ve got the stock intercooler - then that comes off too, then remove starter motor, wiring to gearbox (1 2 pin, 1 earth wire, 4 single wires at the back), gear selector, and gearbox bell housing bolts (5 once you\'ve removed the starter - that has 2) and then you can get to your clutch.

£120 for all that is good value - but it\'s not a massively difficult job if you have the tools / friends. :Thumbs-up

you\'ll also need to prop the engine forwards , this can be done using a couple of bits of wood.

id pay the £130 tbh unless you have your own ramp. we did mine on the floor the other day, was a bit of a xxxx

£130 is well worth the price to get someone to fit for you. You have to get a fair height on the car to be able to work underneath and definately a two person job to fit the box.
I struggled by myself to fit the box even with the aid of a jack, its gets arm aching after a bit trying to slot that box on.
