:( buzzer came on the way home yeterday, went off a few times till i realised what it was. so now topped the oil up.

how bad is it if the oil low buzzer goes off? does it mean theres .... all oil in or is it just a bit low? likely to have done damage?

how much do you think needs to be topped up once it goes off as the dipstick is absolutely ....e for trying to read.

as for damage im not sure. I doubt it providing you havent run the car with the oil buzzer on becuause thats what its there for....
but now i would highly reccommend just dropping the oil and changing the filter and give it a little service rather than mixing oils. prob cheaper to buy 5ltr of oil than single bottles to top it up anyways.

Are you sure it wasn\'t the coolent buzzer? I believe the dip stick measures the top 0.8 litres of about 4 litres.

Yeah I\'ve had the coolant buzzer go off on mine but never the oil one (not that i\'ve ever run it low on oil). Didn\'t even know there was an oil buzzer TBH. What was the symbol on the idiot lights?
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

i presumed you knew it was an Oil buzzer. But i dont have a clue on the 2nd gen. Sounds like it could be water buzzer though... :)

My guessing is its a coolent buzzer, which would explain why it had been going off and then stopping and then goes off again a bit later, it did that with mine and points to an air lock in the block, when I would go up hill it would go off, on the flat it was fine etc

I had the same buzzer go off when i picked my car up. Was deffinately oil buzzer was fine when i topped up. does actually say  in the owners manual about the oil buzzer
