but just to add to all the replies above, i dont recall weight being mentioned.
depending how long you\'d be wearing the helmet for, its nicer to have a lighter helmet as its going to be on your head for some time.

flip ones are generally the heavier than full face and open helmets.
i\'d say go for full face as if you have an open helmet and the seatbelts fail or similar and your head goes flying towards the steering wheel, or vice versus, a full face one will protect your lower jaw :)

and definitely try before you buy! large from one make is not going to be same size as another make.
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

My opinion, and I\'ll probably get shot down in flames for it...

If you just want a helmet to meet legislation, and be allowed out on track for track days at events etc, get a cheap one that fits nicely.

If you want to take up racing, or are considering attending open pit days, and doing a fair bit of track time, buy the lightest, most comfy, bestest one you can afford.

I rode bikes for years, and always bought the best helmet I could afford, and replaced it everytime it had a knock. I had a fair few Bell helmets - in fact I still have my M2 - excellent, but weighs a ton by todays standards ;)
I do the occasional track day now, and never really push the car near it\'s limits (at least, that\'s the plan) so I wear a £40 helmet, \'cos it does the job :)
