Although has been said many, many times before:

If you happen to be playing taxi for some pretty females and you have them in the back. There is NO way that they can get out in a skirt without flashing their knickers.....

Small point, but an important one :) :)
Work hard, play hard house :D

when and where my man ?
An obsession was just the start.

R-R-Rx7

Quote from: gonzoninja;681425I\'m a triathlete and before I got something more sensible for carting all the junk around it I took the RX7 to all my triathlons. I found the best way was to keep the rear seats as they were, take both the wheels off and then sit the bike on the seats.

The cranks would rotate round to a good position and the front forks would go in one of the seats. Then I just chucked the wheels in the boot.

The question isn\'t \'Can I live with an RX7?\' the question really is \'Can I live WITHOUT an RX7?\'

AMEN!!!!!!!!

My 4 seater is absolutely useless for rear passengers.  A tiny person behid the passenger is just possible, but both of their knees are pressed against the seat/dash.  In my experience it is completely impossible to put someone behind the driver and get a driver in.  Also, I would NEVER encourage you to try and put a bike in a 7.  It might squeeze in if completely dismantled, but it\'s just not that sort of car.

Consider this - they are rubbish for carrying anything but 2 people, they are immensely juicy, compact and generally impractical.  Very few are still standard, unfortunately a great deal of them are tatty - the model is 19 years old now.

If you can absorb/deal with all of that, these cars can be immensely rewarding.  They are light, well balanced, quick (even in standard form), responsive and agile.  They are beautiful to behold (italian looks for Jap money) they are cheap as chips and if you buy the right car and treat it the right way, they are not too costly to maintain. They are exotic in terms of technology, hence there is a committed and enthusiastic community surrounding them.

Don\'t fear modification on the whole, or risk massively limiting your market.  Instead accept sensible mods and take your time to compare a good few of them.  If one is draped with shiny-shiny bought on ebay it\'s probably rubbish.  If it\'s suspension is rock hard and super low it will ride badly on british roads.  Modification is not cumluative - "add part get performance", it is harmonious - "how do these bits go together?"

Look for recent engine rebuilds by the best sources - warranties on engine work are usually available when the work has been done properly.

Hope that\'s of help.

Been truthful.. Ye u can live with an Rx7 but be prepared to spend alot of money.

surely you meant, RX7 could I live without one

They\'re pretty practical given the genre of car!

I drove from Manchester to Ingolstadt with a suitcase, steering wheel for the PC, satellite dish, set top box, tools and spares including a fresh set of twin turbos without an issue :D

Quote from: nike5;681149Would I be able to live with a RX7 as a (nearly) practical car, bearing in mind my other car is a westfield.

I\'ve been using mine as a daily driver, 13 mile round trip for 4 years and occasionally transport two kids around in the back (age 7/3) with plenty of space.

Car is 10 years old and one of the unmodified few.

If you own a Westfield for fun I would actually not look at an FD as a daily driver - especially if you want something for towing.  They are effectively a 2 seater - though the rear seats act as nice extra luggage bins.  I would not want to sit in the back even if I was 5ft 5.

My FD is a weekend / Fun / track car - no way I would want to use it everyday, if I did I would get pis*ed off with it pretty quickly.  As it is at the moment when (if?) I break something on the car it can stay broken until I get round to it.

I also dont feel like the Rotary is suited for 10 min trips to the supermarket.

I know that owning a westie means that you are hardcore anyway :Thumbsup! but I would go for a boring, economical, lardy TDI for everyday that wont mind a few bumps and scuffs on the school run. :yes  or sell the westie and replace it with a rex for fun.
Single Turbo time!

You should try 4 people in a FC Rex, with a rollcage & crossbrace ;)  Good fun when skidding ha ha!!.. Quite comfy with 1 person in the back, can share both seats, 1 for feet :)

3rd FD. All daily used. Mind you I used a Westie and other kits for every day use for about 10 years when I was younger. Had to dig a hole till I could see the pedals when it snowed.
