Hi John,

ARC have a very good reputation and their parts tend to be quite expensive (high quality though) if you can point me in the direction of the IC kit that you have I may be able to help. Some do require battery relocation for V-Mounts otherwise if it\'s front mount you may have to cut away some bumper crash structure to fit it.

I\'ve had a crash in an R32 @110 mph with a wonga sized IC and I can tell you it\'s as good a crash structure as anything.
Lil-Steve is.... loving it when a plan comes together.

My top mounted intercooler is an ARC copy but with a pace core, the core is everything, my top mount is probably better than some of the UBER intercoolers off ebay. It is all about planning with intercoolers, I know when Liam\'s car got this V mount put in, the front bracing had to be moved and re-welded.

A few things like changing the power steering pump for an electric PS pump will free up more space for pipework. You will find some people try and cram in a huge intercooler with random bendy pipework everywhere that isn\'t very good for flow.

Its best to research into different setups for your power goals etc :) but I would recommend getting a decent core. Don\'t forget that an intercooler will reduce the possibility of detonation, so don\'t skimp on the core.

i think before you go spending lots of money you need to decide what sort of power you want to run!! upto 370-400 and a good smic will be fine more than that then you either need to look at an fmic setup if you want to keep your battery up front or go v mount if you are happy to relocate the battery into the boot

if thats all you want then a good smic will be fine and you wont have to move your battery just make sure you get it ducted right

Agreed, get a good quality SMIC and get the ducting right - also make sure that there are no leaks and the ducting fits perfectly. Might also be an idea to have a look at some hard pipe induction kits to smooth the air flow out a bit more as well :)

an smic is a standard moubt intercooler. basicly an uprated intercooler that fits in the standard position. the trust one is regarded as one of the best you can get and looks like this when fitted

John RX7

ahhh i get you, right better get on the look out for a trust IC thanks for the help
