Cheers Carl, would have taken you up on your kind offer, but it\'s all sorted now

Turns out there are different counterweights. The one I had had a slightly larger diameter at both ends, but not by the same amount - so it was larger, AND it has a different taper!
So, place betsnow, what\'s it actually from? A very informed source reckons 20B.

rx8? methinks the rear plate on these is thinner than the earlier plates
-- as such there is an already noted difference in the crank oiling gallery position relative to the rear stat on these engines due to the thin plate

all this would amount to a crank that sticks further "out the bum" and hence reasons why the taper would interfere deeper on this counterweight

keen to see how the weight measures up for its inside flats measurement with those above

Not a 20b,
I bet it is been worn on the inside by woodruff key not being put in sometime and it spinning on shaft.

It doesn\'t look like wear tbh, it looks like part of the casting/machining.
I\'ll try and get it properly measured sometime, but priority now is getting the car back running!

IIRC it was something like 2 10 thou larger at one end, and 1 ten thou the other, memory is a little hazy though, as aI was a little giddy at the prospect of actually finishing the motor :D

RX8 is a good shout though :)
