After snapping one of the stock lines at the weekend when refitting the OMP - Mitch and I were discussing the possibility of braided lines.

I know Pete\'s done this but had issues due to the size of the cables.

Having Seen Bish\'s oil feed line - which is AN3 and a suitably thin hose, I was thinking of what was required.  I think the OMP banjo bolts are M8 x 1.25 - but need to confirm this size.

Oil Injectors are M10 Banjo\'s - which is a standard brake banjo size.

So braided lines for brakes may well fit the bill for this.

Would be nice to do an adaptor on the OMP then go into a 90 degree an fitting and pipe straight to a banjo end.

Anyone know a good source of cheap (maybe for bike) brake parts for an3 90 degree to M10 Banjo already made, or as tails from an M10 Banjo to fit your own 90 degree an3 hose end on so the different lengths can be accomodated ?

Also need to source an3 to M8x1.25 - which seems a tough task - Earls apparently carry it - but they are over £10ea in Stainless.  Again - any sources cheaper ?

Colum did a group buy for these for FDs over on FDUK just recently (at my instigation, I might add [/blush] lol). Might be worth asking him where he got them made up, some place local to him in Brum I believe

My braided lines have been trouble free and leak free for 1500 miles and some extreme heat as well (turbo running too hot due to too small oil restrictor), You are more than welcome to have the braided hose I used for free, you just need to retain your original clamps and a way of heating up the ends to make plyable.

I see you went banjo on the OMP end :)

Was thinking about that - but the space is quite restricted there - and are those M8 banjo\'s then Pete ?

Goodridge do them

You can get them in plated...so a big difference in price.

What size do you need and I will have a look at the price for you?

I\'ll measure up the hose lengths tonight / tomorrow and post up the lengths.  I should think this might be a mod a few people would want to do, as the stock lines get ever so brittle.  On the FC it\'s 4 lines, as opposed to the FD\'s 2 - so it\'s quite an expensive mod with off the shelf kits.

Spoke with Earls today...

Looks like the cheapest way with new parts is to do Banjo\'s both ends.

Cost is coming out around £15 a line for the fittings plus the cost of the hose - so probably £20 a line.

They do some nice coloured braided lines too - so thinking of this as an idea...

Going to be cheaper than new lines from Mazda - which will only go brittle again...
