you need massive rear spats to prevent stone chipping :-D

Nice man, love the ambition and smooth design!
You are going to be taking moulds off the finished shapes creating grp/fibreglass pieces though right? You\'d be INSANE to have that amount of filler permanently on a car! It\'s bad enough on trailer queens, but on a car with any kind power thats going to be used its just crazy :)
Ridiculously heavy, prone to cracking, will fall apart if dinged, absorbs/retains moisture or solvents which come back months after painting to cause bubbling/sinkage(usually on nice hot days such as at shows!), and lots of other reasons why you shouldn\'t let all your hard work go to waste..
sorry you\'re already planning to do this.. kind of more sorry if you\'re not! ;D

we are looking into taking moulds before it gets paint  but finding it quite difficult to get a local fibreglass specialist that is up to the task of producing quality moulds.

As for weight issues, we have so far used 25kg extra in flibreglass resin, and various polyester fillers. This doesnt take into account all the sanded/grinded product and at at estimate i would have thought there would be an aditional 17-20kg added to the car. Its not as much as you think as its not entirely filler! in the worst places there is upto around 10mm of procuct (in the corners of swage lines etc.) which is more that we would like but not too over teh top compared with fibreglass products

As a company we have put a couple of custom designs together like this (although before i became a member of the team) and they do show up a couple of cracks etc after a couple of yrs of abuse but no more than any other fibreglassed kit. The way we have built the kit is extremly stong, much more so than regular sheet metal panels as i have seen first hand after a customers car had an unfortunate collision with another vehicle during the icey xmas period. The relative damage from the kitted car was miniscule to say the least. lol

That\'s cool, its obvious you know what your doing, I guess I view filler as being slightly fragile (and tbh a pain in the ass if used in any quantity!). With moulds of course you have the prospect of reselling your hard work, or if you want to keep it exclusive then replacing/fixing the panels is relatively more straightforward and you could have a couple of demo cars.
Looking forward to updates on this anyway.

hi guys, didnt get to much done this week, we had a customers bently in all week to concentrate on and you know what these bently owners are like ;)  but i did manage to widen the front bumper so that we could still use the carbon connards which came with the kit so il post the pics up of that :)
