headlights popped up but now wont go down (fd)

hey guys put my headlights on earlier as normal, then when i came to turn them off they didnt go down, and they dont move off the switch on the dash. i tried winding them down with the red knobs at the back of the lights, then when i turned them back on they popped all the way back up but still wont go down

help?

sounds like the switch on the dash has packed up or the conection on the back of the button has come loose! with the button disconected the lights will go up, but wont retrac, so any fault there will give the symptoms you are having!

bugger, that means i havto get most of the dash off doesnt it :Grrr

could it also be the relay because from the looks of the wiring diagram the live for the motors to go down go through that but the live for them to go up doesnt

it worked for me but it was never the same again!!! now it wont pop up! any one got a headlight cover???

also can someone tell me in the main relay box at the front of the car, what is the blue relay for as my box is shortened and some have been removed, so im not sure which one is for what lol

problem solved the switch on the dash is dead, anyone got one?
