I have just got off the phone from PB. They said that a car with my size engine (2.6?) would have to be garaged to be covered by Classic Car Ins. I haven\'t got the space so they suggested Everyday Ins. I got cut off at that point so before I ring back I thought I\'d see what everyone thinks!
note: I\'ve tried the "it\'s a 1.3, honest" ploy before, but to no avail! I didn\'t even bother to try this time.

cheers all

that could be down to your postcode

they are happy with mine on the drive to be honest

and i dont think the insurances are overly bothered about it being a 1.3 or a 2.6 - thats only the lovely road tax man :(

If the car is registered on your v5 document as a 1.3, scan it in and send them a copy, I had to do this with them, its just their system does not allow them to edit a car without proof. Just explain that its on the v5 as 1.3 and ask them to provide an email or send them a copy in the post. HTH

thanks for the help. I might just go back to Aon. Their quote was £240. I\'m probably just being a bit greedy!

same, I told them mine was garaged, but it only served to bring the price down a bittie, \'HU\' postcodes are usually on fire!! ;)

correct, all FD\'s are Group 20 cars so it doesn\'t really matter what one you choose. Only potential problem is when the insurers try to find your car model to give you a quote. Mine was registered with Sky as a 2354cc Turbo Injection as they didn\'t have a \'93 Type-R twin-turbo on database at the time. Guy I was dealing with however knew his cars and was more than happy to send out a letter detailing that it was in fact a 2616cc and insured accordingly.
