Where\'d u get these mirrors?

Ian,
Did the royal mail contact you by post to tell u they have your mirrors?
Still not got mine yet,emailed the seller to ask if he deffo sent them.
Saw on tv,royal mails been striking so post delayed,nothing new there then!

yeah, they shoved a card through my door saying that they couldn\'t leave the parcel cause there was duty to pay.
I  live out in the sticks and my postman comes in the van and will usually just leave parcels for me in the greenhouse, even if they need a signature which saves me loads of hassle having to collect myself or rearrange delivery.

Once there\'s duty to pay though, you have to sort it yourself at the sorting office.

think just some random aftermarket wing mirror. maybe similar to the fd re-a ones that sit on the wings?

7 times out of 10 you never get stung for any duty but occassionally you do and just have to live with it. I paid £9.79 vat but then the Royal Mail decided that the\'d have a piece of the action as well and charged me an \'international handling fee\' of £8.00. For doing what exactly??
If it had been a value over £135 I\'d have been done for import duty as well!
These were process by customs on 26.02.10 and have only just come out to me. Your parcel is probably stuck in some customs warehouse somewhere waiting for some bureaucrat to deal with it.
 

 
These mirrors are going on the black car. All the money is going on that one now to get it done.
I\'m just going to run the red one and enjoy it.
I just offered one up to the black car and it looks awesome.
 
The mirror arm is painted satin black, the plastic case of the mirror is unpainted although I\'ll probably do mine in Mazda sparkling black to match the car.

Well my mirrors finally turned up today,months after i\'d paid for them,thought i\'d been had,as Ian got his a looooooong time ago.
Did\'nt get stung for any import duties,box marked as gift,so happy now!

unbelievable!! really pleased for you Stu, I thought they were long gone.
I haven\'t put mine on yet \'cause space is tight in the garage and I don\'t want to knock them.
Put some pics up when you\'ve fitted them.
Just out of interest, did the shipping label say what date he posted them?
He seems to have gone to ground. I never even got any feedback from him.

To be honest i did\'nt look at the shipping date,i was too concerned about funnel web spiders lurking in the box!
Mirrors are good nick,casing not chipped & glass 100%,so they just need spraying black.
He has\'nt left me any feedback,but he was close to getting some feedback from me!
I could,nt really lodge an appeal against him on ebay as paypal gives you only 45 days from payment to lodge an appeal,he swore he\'d sent them same time as yours,then there was the uk postal strike,so i\'d resigned myself to being stung,but hey they finally turned up.
I\'ve offered them up against the standard cricket bat mirrors & their a vast improvement & will look sleek & add to the cars appearance,rather than ruin it!
Can\'t understand why you got hit for tax & i did\'nt,was your box marked gift?
It\'ll take me a long time to fit them as i\'m in & out of uk working abroad,got stuck in poland due to volcano,made my own way back,took 19 hours by various trains to get back!& don\'t ask about the expense of that!
I\'ll take pics when i get a chance to spray & fit them,but don\'t hold your breath!

my garage is tight too but i\'ve been lucky enough not too knock them (you know i shouldnt of said that!) get them fitted guys had mine on for 3 years now
