Hye Everyone,

This morning, I got my FD back from the garage for service (oil, oil filter and sparkplugs). The car got flooded last week so once it started up, I took it to the garage directly for the complete service. Then this morning, when I got it back, I had problems with acceleration.

When I accelerate slowly, the car revs fine til 3500rpm, I can hear the sturb spooling, then it is like the engine shuts down, then the revs come down snd the engine restarts again, goes up to 3500rpm and does the same again.

When I am WOT, the car does the same, but this time at 2500rpm.

Any idea what this is???

sounds like when they serviced your car they have accidently disconnected the vacuum tube from the plenum (Upper intake manifold) that goes into your MAP sensor.
The MAP sensor is located on the passenger side bulkhead (on a right hand drive car)

therefore the ECU is fuelling the engine incorrectly as it does not recognise its under boost

Thanks, I will take a look at that tonight. Just to make sure, the MAP sensor is the pressure sensor next to the throttle body (little black box) or is it something else.

What I don\'t understand iw how could they unplug it knowing that it is not in the area of the oil filter and the plugs???

Joffrey

I checked the black box "boost sensor" next to the throttle body, mounted on a bracket, and all the hoses are connected. I looked into the engine bay and from all I could see, nothing is unplugged.

Are you sure of what it is, because maybe i have to replace this sensor because it is broken. It sucks cos the engine has been rebuilt and it is another stupid part broken that bugs me

Joffrey

Could it be that the garage that replaced the plugs placed them the other way around, like the trailing pulg as leading, and the leading as trailing?? Could this cause my acceleration cuts??

I am trying to find out what could have happened cos they just changed oil, oil filter and plugs, and those aprts are not near the rat nest and all those things. I am trying to eliminate all the possibilities.

I had this trouble and it was the two turbo solenoids on the front of th uim.

Problem Solved. I made an ECU reset and checked all the plugs cables, if they were properly connected, and the problem disappeared. Seems like the car was just in limp mode after the oil and plugs change.

Thanks for your help anyway.
