Awesome, almost sounds like a 2 stroke, and certainly revs like one. Even the exhaust is very similar to an expansion chamber:)

Quote from: BlitzBoy;853955Are you and Nathan going head to head with his V8 Mini on the strip when you finished :D ?

That should be a laugh as his Mini will have 4wd , slicks , gas and 1500bhp no doubt !!!! I might have too turn the boost up , lol .

Quote from: Will66;853964This thing will be an animal, what sort of weight will it run to?  I\'m guessing sub 800 kg which means a power-to-weight of 625 bhp per tonne with a 500 bhp motor.  Since 600 hp is probably only a fiddle of the wastegate spring and a remap away this thing\'s going to be fast!

Yes hoping for under 700 kilos and 800+bhp per ton power to weight ratio . I have Ed\'s old Jaydee large street ported engine with big turbo etc so could make anything between 500-600bhp if all goes well .
Imagine an RX7 with 1100+bhp and you\'ll get the picture . :chat

Prime candidate for turning up the boost with some methanol injection.  It would go like the clappers.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

lol , Nathan is the man . Top driver with nerves of steel .
Didn\'t go down to the car today due to the snow etc but spoke to Chris and the fronts been chopped out ready for the steering and suspension mods and the rear frame for the wheelie bars and rear engine pick up is all finished . We\'re supporting/bracing the engine all round too stop the casings flexing/moving and this will stop some unwanted engine failures .
I\'m getting a cheapo 60mm wastegate as they are running them on my mates  drag car and they work fine if you strip them and check them over first . Also decided to junk the stock throttle body idea as it complex and has triangle shaped entry etc and just get a universal round single throttle body welded to an adapter plate and bolt this to the stock intake manifold . Probably run a 70mm throttle too match the charge cooler oulet size but not 100% sure yet until i\'ve done some research . More pics next week . :Thumbs-up

Just checked and it\'s a 76mm throttle body i need too match the inlet pipework or i could run a bigger one if needed . I see that some aftermarket Rx7 throttles are 90mm so do i need to go this big ? Any ideas ?

shaunwil

I would go for a 90mm one. What type of porting are you running on the engine ?

Standard is more than enough - no need for a big single.. They are good for 600hp

600gaz

Cheers chaps . Shaun i have a large street port so could use 90mm throttle and reduce down to 76mm through the charger cooler .
12at , i can\'t use the stock throttle body as easily as the odd shape (triangle) and the elbow which convert to round pipe points the wrong way on my car . Seen aftermarket 90mm throttles on ebay for around £80-£120 so not too bad if i go this route .

Yes i fancy a custom plenum later on for sure but for now i\'ll run the stock one and see if it\'s fast enough . Then i can keep costs down a bit as all the stock alternator and the fuel system will just bolt straight on . That\'s the plan anyway .

A projay fanimold might be right up your street. Have a look ont web, robs running one his drag car

Nice link Grant , that\'s more like it !!! Wicked stuff on that site . I like this one and it would make my install easier as well . :Giggle

That\'s the semi pp one, more expensive. You just need the normal one. Should fit your engine bay nice and easy.

The guys that make them are on FB, get in touch and see if they will sponsor you and give it you cheaper
