I have a set of 18s on my FD and it matches the colour of my car.

Personally I think they look quite nice. Just wondering at 18 inch will they be too heavy for trackday use?

Will a set of say... 9.5/17 Rota GTRs be a better choice? I have a friend who is their dealer so he can get pretty good price for me. I know they are not forged but a lot of UK and US time attack cars run them now so they can\'t be that bad, right?

I\'d be interested in your old wheels?! How much?!

overboost

Thx for the interest, mate. I\'ll let you know when I decide to go for a lighter set of wheels.

I just checked the works meisters they seem to be forged. At the same size 18*9 they are exactly 20% heavier than the TE37s.

So does it fall into light or heavy category? At the same size will Rota \'light weight\' wheels be lighter or heavier?

MaLicE

lol there is a reason uk time attack and us time attack run rotas, simply because they get huge sponsorship deals to run them, and they are readily available, this DOESNT mean they are good!!!

those wheels you have are so sexy you have no idea, i got some light enkei wheels in 17" if you would consider a swap!

J_T

What sort of prices are all these "light weight" wheels new?

SiH

If you swap S1\'s for Rota\'s, you should be shot.

FYI, Pending condition and offset, your wheels should be worth at least £1200.

They aren\'t super heavy, but they aren\'t super light - IIRC about 10kg a wheel? that\'s reaonably good for split rims. Rota\'s aren\'t super heavy, but won\'t be as light as a TE37 - 18x9 TE37 is circa 8.2kg IIRC.

lol, nice try ;)

Right, weight wise, I\'ve checked my sources...
Rota GTR and Grid\'s are both circa 10.2kg in an 18x9
TE37\'s (not the mag\'s) are 8.2kg per wheel.
Meister S1 in 18x9 is circa 10.2kg. Light for a split rim - My LM\'s are basically the same weight in a 17x9.5.

If you want light, single piece forged is the way to go. We\'re talking TE37, TE37 Mag, CE28N, Desmond Regamaster, Enkei RPF01, SSR Type C, Advan RG2, etc. They should get you in/near the 7 - 8 kg per wheel range.

They\'re not work meisters, they\'re ssr professor SP1\'s, I would\'ve though Sih\'d pick up on that ;)

They\'re worth more than meisters in my view, but not 1.2k in those offsets, I\'ve seen this car in the flesh they\'re high offset but low disk. I\'d value them @ £800.

Kash_

I agree with Sih to go from these to Rota\'s is a no no.

jackaleks

slightly off topic, but what is that wing?

i\'ve got one lying on my bedroom floor (came with the car) and i\'ve no idea what it is or what it\'s worth.

and to swap Work for Rota... are you mad?!

ad4m1

Standard 96-98 wing. How much do you want for it?
