Hi,

This isn\'t another new problem just one ive been putting up with for the time being.
My fc seem\'s to be juddering off throttle and can be quite violent at times when simply coasting in gear around 2500rpm-3000rpm.

Im wondering if the engine mount\'s are shot or any other of the driveline mounting bushes.

Engine seems to have allot of travel on the mounts too.Has anyone had any previous experience with anything like this??

Does this happen when this is in gear when coming up to junctions or or slowing down in gear? if so, they all seem to do this, mine does this. If you dip the clutch does it go away? What state of porting does the engine have? if its been bridgeported it will wobble around lol you can get upgraded poly bushes or solid mounts (not a good idea on a road car lol)

Yeah it happens in gear only,my egi was never this bad at that had a judder now and again but this actually shakes the whole car lol.

Mine is like this, I think it might just be the gearbox/diff bushes are shot lol I am still trying to find out what is causing it :rollin

let me know if u do as its rather annoying lol

I\'ve had this on my EGi too. Bit of a random question to you.... is any of the induction or the exhaust pipe leaking anywhere?
I had a pretty nasty leak from my centre pipe, and during this time I had some nasty judders like the one\'s you\'ve mentioned. After fixing the exhaust the judders had almost completely gone! Still get slight judders, but that\'s down to the manifold gasket blowing slightly.

Might be the cause for yours?

Adam fc

Yeah mine certainly has a major leak between the turbo and downpipe which I\'m sorto g this week as the gasket has blown.

Before I changed to the exhaust I have now it wasn\'t leaking and still juddered quite abit.

dthebuk

well if it only does it in gear it deff points to the drive line. Mine does it out of gear and its pretty obvious the engine mounts are gone. The exhuast probably adds to the problem though

Could this be caused by worn prop bolts? Just thinking that if its only off throttle then this might cause a rattle as the engine isn\'t driving the shaft around anymore. Either that or maybe the prof shaft is out of balance some how.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Most likely the enigne mounts/transmission mounts.  I\'m assuming they will still be the originals - so replacing them would be a good move, especially if you are planning to give the car a bit of abuse :Giggle

eccentric shaft pilot bearing? if thats worn you can get judder.

If it is that - pretend its not :p

Although the judder from the pilot bearing would be when setting off and engaging drive. Judder on overrun when slowing down is usually the differential.

Ive recently spoken to a local mechanic and he seems to think its driveline related maybee a shaft bearing or associated parts.
As for the engine mounts they\'ll be swapped out for some polyurethane ones allong with some solid gearbox mounts and some deylin sub frame bushes.

Could possibly be play in the diff then?
