Guy\'s I have an old skool KS Turbo timer. See this link.

Does anyone have this fitted to there motor and remember how to wire it up? I cannot find a wiring diagram.
Basically there is a white plug with 3 main ignitions wires (red, green , blue)which I have a plug on my FD3 for already from where the old timer came out. However the other timer had 3 other seperate smaller wires on another little plug wired up but the HKS unit only has two other wires coming from it.. Black and grey I think. I thought the black would be earth and the grey ignition live but it appears not to be the case. The unit all lights up when the car is on but when you switch of the ignition it turns off and doesn\'t let the car run on. Is the \'grey\' wire maybe constant live or is it something entirely different?

I have just found something saying the grey wire goes to the handbrake switch? does this mean the nit wil only work if the handbrake is on?

Please help.

Thank you
Lee

Any help here guy\'s?

I have wired the handbrake switch up and the unit now stays on but the car engine turns off still?!

Thank you

I one of those lying around too. Not sure about wiring them up as on whatever vehicle I\'ve usually just bought the loom adapter. However, yes, the timer should only work with the handbrake on. This stops anyone from attempting to move the car while it\'s counting down mate.

Just make sure that you have a cat 1 alarm or simular on the car, insurance companies don\'t like turbo timers as it is an easy way through the ignition to start the car, which is why my turbo timer is built into the alarm :)

Thanks for the info guy\'s. I think I am just going to cut my loss and get another plug in loom.. I am guessing the existing wiring is not correct for the turbo timer.. Or at least I hope that\'s what it is!
