Well she is now back on the road, taxed from tomorrow, the guy who tested it said it was in better condition than some 5 year old cars, not even an advisory note.

I would to thank all those on here that have helped with advise and encouragement over the past few months.

    Dibs
Ps And to all those still at it keep going, we must not let this mark die out..............

congratulations Dibs, all the stress and grief was worth it now!
Time to give it a good shake down now.....it\'s amazing how many little things crop up on cars that have been laid up for a good while!
All part of the fun though!!
Another 1st gen back where it belongs...  on the road!!

Have you had chance to put any miles on your car yet Dibs?
How\'s it feel to be back behind the wheel after 11 years?

A7RXY

Yes I took it down the lanes where I live, it took some getting used to again, boy realy forgot how heavy the steering is and how lighting has progressed, fitted new headlights today, but its been raining so have not had the chance to check them out, but as a whole it was great to get behind the wheel again.

syebba

aching arm muscles!you\'ll get used to that,i had a dax cobra,no power steering with 255mm tyres on front 18" rims, that made the fb\'s feel like nimble lightweights!!
11 years since you,ve driven it,why?
ta stu..

Ian65

It really brings it home to you how much cars have progressed in recent years.
These cars were the top of the range 25 - 30 years ago and at the time, they seemed light years ahead of anything else I\'d driven ( Marinas, Cortinas, Capris etc) but they now seem like \'classics\' to drive, no pas, no aircon, no heated seats, central locking etc etc.
Still love \'em though!

A7RXY

Stu.........It got put in the garage and just stayed there, but due the present climate I needed a car so it came out again, it was ok when l laid it up, but did not realise it would take so long to get back on the road, but thats all history now.

A7RXY

Your right there Ian, I think I had a bigger smile on my face after driving the RX than when I drove my Porsche through the same lanes..............
