I think it might just be the lacquer being scratched rather than the alloy lol I am going to get some automotive nitromors to get rid of the lacquer and see what the surface of the metal is like :)

There is a slight issue though, one of the rims has a bit of damage on the edge that will need to be filled slightly, so I don\'t know if it would be possible to polish it :(

I guess what I could do is perhaps paint the very edge of the rim gloss black, leave the parts where the studs are polished and then have gold centres?

TBH, dude, if you\'re doing anything other than polishing the rims, get them done pro. The paint in rattle cans is pretty good nowadays, especially if you warm it thoroughly, but you simply cannot buy good lacquer in a can. Your lovely paintwork will not last a winter if you DIY it and don\'t get them professionally lacquered. Whereas, like SiH says, if you polish them, at least you can just re-polish once a week, which is tedious, but at least it\'ll keep \'em shiny.

EDIT...plus it\'s nigh-on impossible to get even pro lacquer to stick to shiny polished alloy very well, so polishing most of the rim and painting the rest probably won\'t last too well either

Ah ok, hmm I will ask JM garage for help as James has bought the spray booth shop next to his garage and has sprayed his own rims lol thought it might have been a good winter project, but I guess I don\'t have the skill/equipment/materials to get a really good job lol

Im still wondering about a colour scheme lol
