Quote from: BlitzBoy;648365All have to say Bob, "paragraphs are a great invention", I gave up trying to read your post after the first line hahahahahahahahaahah :cheers
it reads like hes had a really REALLY strong cup of coffee

Coffee? Nah mate just a large bag of white powder! (next paragraph). As for tools. a dremel for porting? Hahahahahahahaahaaahhahahahaha etc. It might be alright formodel aero engines but I think I\'d rather kill myself than do serious work with one of those things. A6mm die grinder and a decent compressor(14cfm minimum). I used to use a dentists drill at one time which is ideal for getting into transfer ports on two strokes. If you look on ebay there are small 3mm die grinders for not a lot of money(Should I start a new paragraph yet)?
(new paragraph) The rotary burrs for these aren\'t bad at a tenner for 10 for doing the detailing.
For polishing \'spirabands\' are available at £35 per hundred.
But(is the joke about paragraphs wearing thin yet)?
Also don\'t start sentences with the word \'but\'. A length of 6mm bar slotted and then a roll of emery tape is almost as good and cheaper.
One last thing, I\'ve done a number of V8 heads over the last couple of years and there is three days work in them using a 6mm die grinder, I\'d still be at them with a dremel!!!!!!
Oh, and if you are buying burrs for the die grinder they are £30-£40 each for proper ones.
 Luv and kisses. Bob.!!!!!!!!1

And for those smarty pants moaning about \'Paragraphs\'- Don\'t blame me for the stupid computer on the forum starting every paragraph at the edge of the page!!!!!!!

fly

It took me about 4-5 hours for each port, i thought the dremel was alright :)

I would only use Tim at rxmotors or Davehg IMHO .Just look at chris impeys car

BOB! where u from? ^_^

Sunny Huddersfield!! I don\'t mean to be derogatory about the dremel, its just not heavy duty enough for serious work. Most people who do porting regularly will use a 6mm/ 1/4" die grinder. For example, a pair of iron V8 heads have 16 ports and even with the die grinder and decent burrs you are looking at an hour and a half each port to rough out, then half an hour plus for polishing. thats 32 hours of fizzing hands!!! Apparently when I had my brain haemmorage relieved(result of an attempted murder-and the ....er nearly succeeded) the surgeon said the tool they use to cut pieces ou of my skull was like a dremel(stainlesss of course). The result of the head injury was for me to have to stop doing everything for a few years while I learned to walk again.I\'ve only picked the porting up in the last 2years and don\'t do it seriously anymore though the next job is a pair of 400ci heads off my lads Trans Am, and no ,I\'m not looking forward to doing \'em!!!!

Oops, I forgot to put it in paragraphs, sorry!!!!!!
