Carbon fibre

Hi guys, its been a while since i last posted, finally got my "puter fixed. I mentioned a few months ago that i wanted to make roof spoiler for my fd, but now i can`t be arsed to make it out of fibre glass- too long and messy, plus i hate working with it. Now im toying with the idea of making one out of carbon fibre. Has anyone on here used the pre-preg carbon sheets to make anything? Im not bothered about the carbon look as its gonna get painted over anyway, just think it`ll be easyier to fabricate a roof mounted spoiler with this stuff. Let us know, cheers

There are already a couple of roof spoiler on the market,which are not silly money, would probably be a lot easier and even less mess to buy one? i\'ve not seen a lot of fds with them so you\'l still be pretty unique.

I`ve only seen one which looked mental! Who would sell them, been looking everywhere can`t find `em. Cheers.

Just found a couple of websites who do `em. Gonna get them to send me some pics. Im taking inspiration from the LOOKING demo fd which looks mental. Will update soon, cheers.

Turbo boy,
With the prepreg you are going to need to vaccume bag the mould & put it in an autoclave as the resin doesn\'t cure otherwise & it will just stay flopy!!! plus doing this you would still need to make a GRP mould or it will all be a waste of time!

Cheers for the replys everyone, yeah im not gonna bother making one now, can`t be arsed. Making it out of carbon sounds even trickier than fibreglass. Yeah, i`ll check their website cheers.
