For those with an uprated in tank pump:-

How did you get thicker cable to the pump through the plate and then still get an airtight seal?

I assume there is some sort of grommet / gland out there that is IP68 rated petrol resistant but i\'m buggered if i can find one???

I used the original connectors, i just re-pinned them to take the new size cable, albeit it was a squeeze, but have had no problems at all.  You could just cut and solder thicker wire close to the original connectors if you wanted as the voltage drop and current increase drawn through the smaller cable will be negligible.  The voltage drop and increase in current is the problem over the original loom distance with the new pump so as long as you upgrade this, the final connection to the in-tank will be ok.  I am running the Bosch on a 25A fuse :D

They are petrol resistant and IP67 rated

Prof, i searched for around 3 weeks for something to do the job but had no look.

The grommets need to be IP68 rated as the tank pressurizes.  This is why there is a sealed connection from factory.

I have seen solid connections somewhere but i couldn\'t find where i\'d seen them.

Is the tank meant to pressurize ?

I know it tends to, because the fuel returning to the tank will be warm causing a pressure build up, but there is a 3 way check valve on the FC fuel system to vent through the charcoal canister

There is also a charcoal canister on the FD and assume this works as the FC however i\'m not sure how the FC works, but with the FD the purge control valve is controlled via the ECU to use the stored vapour and send it through the air intake to prevent venting fuel vapur to atmosphere. When the engine is off the purge valve will be closed and hence fuel vapour will be pressurized within the system.
