My disks on my rx7  are warped and my pads are getting quite low…. So I thought I as well get some disks and pads all round,

anyone recommend a good combination on disks and pads and where I can get them from?

I know the rx7 was known for its braking so perhaps standard disks with something like hawk pads?

What do you guys think ?

Thanks

I have a front and rear set of standard discs (well within tolerance)

came off my 93 type R after fitment of some Brembo drilled items.

Make me an offer if interested!

I\'d consider staying with stock MAzda stuff - its excellent in good nick.

I think Mintex are may be a slightly better bet than Hawk if u insist on going aftermarket, couldnt tell u what part # for mintex tho. Click the shyauto link above, I\'m sure Clive sells Mintex and Hawk?

is it true if you put uprated or fast road pads on a standard disk this can ruin the disks or would these minex pads be fine with stock disks ?

thanks

As I understand it, it\'s very rare to actually warp disks (unless you have perhaps been doing a trackday and been silly enough to come off track and apply your handbrake when you leave the car).

Most cases of"warped disks" are actually just a case of not bedding in your pads properly and can often be resolved...

see:

Can see you\'d have a problem with fast road pads on standard disks. They might wear out quicker or be noisier though.

Erm i guess the actual replacement is similar to most brakes, dont quote me on that, so if yer not very comfortable & happy with doing this then i\'d defo recommend paying someone to do it as well you dont wana have brakes go pear shaped http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_45.gif\' border=0>

Mintex are OK but I\'ve found you can\'t beat a set of standard pads for that initial "bite" and have found that competition pads don\'t fade and do stop but they don\'t feel quite as good as the standard ones.

Look at the advert as a banner up the top of the page for the link.
Kind regards

thats not 3rd gen rx7 experience though ... we\'ve run EBC greenstuff and various mintex pads on the rally cars and unless a car is giving problems with brake fade we tend to stick with standard pads and they seem to work just fine
