So I\'ve got my ECU all up and running again, and looking to get the relay for the fan up and running.

Now the ECU is set up correctly, but irrespective of water temp, the wire offers an earth all the time, even tho it\'s meant to be a "-ve triggered output"...  To my mind, if 12v is applied at that wire, it should only close the loop once it\'s trigger conditions are met.

wassup, is it me?  Is it the ECU?

You have wired a relay as per the wiring diagram in the back of the manual and set the AuxFAn_ON trigger temperature on screen 29?

On mine the white/red wire is for the fan relay. Does your manual have this information written by hand.

I have indeed.  if I connect it up as per the printed relay pic, the relay sits there buzzing (presumably on/of constantly), and doesn\'t switch off or on.  I\'ve changed the relay for another I had sitting around, and it does the same.  A circuit tester shows it never stops offering a neg connection.

another precursor is the AuxFanRPM_ON and AuxFanMan_On, both of which are set to off...

oh, and yup, it\'s setup as per the hand written diag comments.

Not having wired a -ve trigged output before, I have assumed that it offers an earth ONLY when the trigger conditions are met, right?  So you connect up a +12v feed from the ig, and it closes the circuit when the water temp is high enough.  The software reports the water temp the same as the independant gauge I\'ve connected up, and I\'ve adjusted the temp on Aux Fan ON either side of the current temp to no effect.

Not sure about the Microtech, but on the Emanage Ultimate you have to select \'Relay Output\' in the injector table, otherwise the output is a PWM output (pulsed), as well as selecting what triggers the output.

I take it your load (fan) is connected between the -ve output and the 12v ignition feed

I\'ve a relay with a +12v ignition feed (on pin 86), ECU -ve triggered (on pin 85), +12v ignition (on Pin 30) and feed to the fan (pin 87)...

From the looks of the manual, it should automatically be like that, but it\'s interesting what you say about it being triggered...  I\'ll have a look.

Thats correct, it goes to ground to close circuit when temp is reached.

Are you sure you have picked the correct Aux? Mine shows..

Aux1(white wire) as STD output

Aux2(white/red wire) as Fan

Aux3(white/black wire) as Aux Air

If your relay is buzzing it may be constantly opening and closing which sound more like the aux air output.

Archbish

Mine shows the white with black as the fan, but I\'ll check the other outputs tomorrow to see.
