My FD3 is going to be having some BNR stage three turbos fitted shortly, along with a single plate clutch, and an HKS induction kit will be replacing the ARC box.  I’ll possibly also be fitting a rebuilt gearbox as it makes sense to do all the work at the same time.

As the car is track day’d I’ve been thinking about ceramic coating the turbine wheels to help with the temps, and maybe adding a short Shifter?

Is there anything else associated with this work that I should be thinking about doing at the same time?  Engine / gearbox mounts, pipes etc….  the car is a ’95 and done 86,000 miles or so. (suspension bushes have been done recently, as has a full service.)

Ceramic Coat the turbine houses....not the internals.  You really dont want to start coating the internals as if a bit was to flake off...it would probably kill the turbo!

What dampers are you running?

I would fit an electrical cut out and a fire system, these are quite cheap to do.

If you are looking to cage the car then fit harnesses and seats too.

Brakes are always a bonus!

Why use BNRs on a track car? Should have gone for a small single.

What are you doing about intercooler/radiator setup?

AtomicRex

lol

Kieron...dont say that to him...he will think I have put you up to it! ;)

what suspension setup are you running?

Did you already say this then? Does make sense, the price of those uprated twins you could get a sorted single setup.

suspension is Tein Monoflex.

I was also wondering about getting the HKS downpipe coated - alternatively I could wrap it... If I coat the turbine housings does it create any issues with heat dissipation from the turbos?

IC is trust / greddy (not front mount) I know not ideal, but I hope will do the job OK for the time being.

rad is lindop motorsport one from ebay - I fitted it a few weeks ago, and it seems to do the job fine on the road.

electrical cut out and fire system could be a good way to go.

I\'ll hold off on fitting a cage for now as the car will still be being used on the road.

brakes wise I have MRP grooved discs and decent pads + 5.1 fluid, so that will stay for the time being - they are very impressive as standard compared to the full brake upgrades I have run on other cars before.

Keiron / Atomic - I know a small single may have been a better way to go - but the extra cost of a decent downpipe would have pushed me over budget - it is the setup that I would have ideally gone for.:reallymad On the bright side if I decide to go to a single in future the BNR\'s should sell without a problem for a good price.

any other little bits and pieces that could be worn that I could get done pre-emptively?
Single Turbo time!

Hey....it wasnt me that was bringing up the single route!! lol

I was just telling Keiron not to open up a large can of worms!

sure.:D

Clutch has been ordered as have the turbos - so decision made.  I just need to make the most out of them and get the car setup right now.:3gears-rh

jackaleks

if you\'re doing the clutch what about lightening the flywheel?

suba

Clutch was ordered along with lightened flywheel - so that\'s covered.:Thumbs-up
