Will be interesting to see if anything got pinched during the rebuild jim :yes As for holding the seals in place im using "Trex" its a veg shortenings similar to crisco (does not go om nom nom on rubber seals like petrolium jelly does!)

I assume that it sticked to the housing when I lifted it back up to align the housing and the dowlpin hole. That\'s my best guess.

It was a hard lesson but now it\'s OK

check the plates for warpage as well this would cause the same symptoms as a pinched water seal

The car\'s still in the air, just ready for the engine to come out. If I didn\'t work so much, it would be out and stripped already!

We use a similar thing to vasolene when building aero engines and works extremely well,in our trade its called PX7 but not sure if the civvie industry call it any different.

Not yet mate... I should be getting the hoist this week.

Borrowing from a mate who owns a garage. He needed it as he had two engine out jobs.

If the plates are warped, I have a complete spare set so it shouldn\'t be that big a deal.

Will know for sure when it\'s out and apart. Once it\'s out the car, I\'ll double time it.

Just annoying as I need the help of my mate to get the engine from my car to my shed and back again. Moving it by hand, up stairs, along a path, up some more stairs isn\'t fun! lol.
