Hi peeps, i\'m planning some engine changes/mods to the fd soon but i\'m not 100% sure on exactly what to get.
I will have circa 2K to spend, i\'ll not be chasing power as reliability will be my main focus, but more power is always nice. At the moment the car is my daily but come the end of the year it will be a weekend toy.

Stuff already fitted: twins turbos (stock), xspower ic (thinking of possibly going v-mount with it) a knightsport ecu, front pipe back racing beat exhaust system, twin K&N filters, earthing kit, magnacor leads and i think that is it. Currently the car is running 14psi of boost so I also have fitted a pressure regulator to reduce the amount of boost some of the solenoid get to aid longevity of the solenoids. Got a vented carbon bonnet too, so good for heat loss.

Stuff i\'ve got but not fitted:an uprated fuel pump, PFC and a larger I/c incase i decide to go front mount.

Stuff i know i will need: remap for the pfc and a FPR, should be around £500 for these (i am trying to over estimate just in case)

Stuff I am thinking of: Uprated rad, injectors (possibly?), twin spark, single turbo conversion, rebuilt engine before it goes pop possibly some porting work. (BTW i dont expect to get all of these from £2K but they are my thoughts and ideas to date)

Is there anyting else i should be looking into? At the moment i am loosing energy and the desire to keep working on the car due to constant problems (the rats nest for example is giving me major grief atm).I like the twin turbo set up but would i be foolish to be looking at a 2nd hand, smallish single turbo if i have stock port on the engine? As i said i am not chasing power, circa 350atw is all i\'ve ever wanted out of one of these, (they are so light and responsive I think it would toast most things on the road with that power and be a hoot to drive) but also I understand you get less probs with a single, no sodding rats nest, less heat under the bonnet, more space under the bonnet etc.
Or, instead of looking at a single wouuld i be better off getting a rebuild before it goes pop as i understand it would be a lot cheaper, get some porting done and go for a full non sequential set up. This will do away with most of the rats nest and i understand that you can still get low down boost.

So basically i want a reliable set up for a street car with possibly more power and i will have £1500 to spare. Ideas and suggestions are more than welcome and please enlighten me if i have said anything wrong in my ramblings above.

Thanks

Rob

the water doesnt have to get soooo hot before the theromstat opens...thus allowing you to run cooler.........std opens at about 95-100 degrees (IIRC) low ones you can get from 76-83 degrees.

or use a RX8 one as they open slightly lower by all accounts.
