Right, ive decided to drop te transmission on my FC due to clutch failure blah blah blah and so on.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone who has done this before could give me some advice, specifically on what to remove to make the job easier. So far the gear stick, intercooler(top mount) and clutch slave cylinder have come out, and the starter and exhaust are still to come. Is there anything else i should be taking off to get to those hard to reach places? Im guessing theres going to be some epically hard to remove bolts.

cheers :D

As long as theres two of you doing it, nothing is too hard to do really.  Dont forget to remove the interior surround on the gear stick etc before you try to drop it through...

Other things to watch out for / to do :

Disconnect the 2 switches on the gear box - the cables won\'t be long enough :)

Mark up the prop shaft bolts and their points on the diff - pay attention to any balancing washers or what have you that may have been put on there.

Remove Prop Shaft

Chock up the front of the engine with wood to stop it moving forward when you take the gearbox / bell housing off - otherwise it will be a bugger to put back on

One other thing - mark up the postion of the propshaft BEFORE you remove it and replace it in the same position.

nice one guys!

My main concern is bolts that are a nightmare to get to, im guessing that isn\'t too bad with the trans?

Ive also come to this conclusion :P

Problem is i cant use a socket to get the starter off (sockets are too big), so i need to find an 18 inch spanner too!!!

URGH, halfrauds will be seeing more and more of me!!

if you can get a spanner to it - then use another spanner on that spanner as leverage :D
