I have finally got myself a RX7.  It is a 1992 FD3S, that has got twin K&N filters on, HKS exhaust from CAT back, a twin plate clutch, HKS coilovers and 17\' wheels, apart from that it is standard.
I think it is idleing a bit high, when I first start it up it sometimes idles at 1500 rpm. then it slowly drops to abot 1100 rpm, but it doesn\'t seem to go below 1100rpm, is this noraml?  If not what could be a posibble cause of this?  I know that it is due for a service could this be a cause?

what mialage does it have? thats what mine done at first, turned out it was a waterseal had gone and i needed a rebuild.:(

also theres a gasket that is made very thin which could be blown, this is a 10hr job, so is costly but nowhere near the cost of a rebuild. if it is this you should hear it blowing under the bonnet.

im sure theres less ominus causes that others can help with:D

something to try,  it worked on mine,
if you stand on the passenger side of the engine bay you will see on the rhs of the plenum a round brass thing, with a small plunger which pushes a little arm, this is what controls the cold start, it measures the water temperature and lowers the idle accordingly but as the car gets older it doesnt push the arm as much as it should and your idle remains a bit higher, in the little arm you will see a screw with a spring around it which holds the little arm away from the pluger, if you turn the screw clockwise it pushes the lever away from the plunger and should lower your idle slightly.

When its warmed up, just push the lever with your fingers, if it lowers the idle then that is the problem, just adjust your screw as above. You can usally do it with your fingers and dont have to remove anything.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!
