As the title goes really people. my clutch was slipping so just spent the last 4hrs fitting a new one only for it to slip. Needless to say im not in the best of moods lol. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? Any help would be great!

Is there any play in the clutch peddle ?? Could the peddle still be lifting the clutch off ?

What did the one that came out look like ?

I only really notice it slipping in 3rd 4th and 5th but i guess thats because the clutch is under a greater load in higher gears.
its just a standard clutch, the rear main seal is good no oil leaking, the clutch that came out didnt look all that bad to be honest. peddle feels fine.

thanks for the quick replies guys :-)

Yeah i was going to go for an ACT clutch but my plans for the car have been delayed so ended up going for a stock clutch.
Yeah still pretty much standard power.
It has exactly the same symptoms as the old clutch.

Do you have any free play at the top of the pedal, if you push it with your finger you should have around 1/2 inch of movement at the top before it does any thing,

Real real strange you have this even in 5th, go to ask as I have known this before and no offense is meant, are you sure your not riding the pedal by having your foot resting on it and without realising it\'s disengaging the clutch slightly and making it slip
All the best Clive

I havent yet checked for free play. I guess if i had no free play it mean that the clutch cylinder still has a slight bit of pressure on it so the clutch plate wouldnt release all the way thus causing it to slip.
lol no offense taken but nah its not that lol. wish it was that simple lol.

master or slave cylinder gave me the same simptoms on my track car,i just changed both for peice of mind.

Did you change the pressure plate as well in the clutch. Could the plates have gone weak ????

Thought the master and slave wouldn\'t make much of a difference because the pressure they exert is to release the clutch not to make it bite ??
