i have the same dials, when i first installed them i ran them from the standard lamp supply, this can be dimmed by the switch lhs of steering wheel. i found that if i dipped them slightly the dials would not work or just switch off at random intervals.

Oh thats a top idea i didnt even think of that i was running around at work yesterday looking for resistors and didnt even consider using the one already on the car good work
Ill have to try it this week,i know leds are really sensitive to voltage, too much or too little and they dont work
Just out of interest can you still buy them?

Utter ballache.

Wow, these are super bright! Very nice. Is this a whole new unit then? Or have you replaced the bulbs and dials?? I\'m so confused! :2Confused lol

SleepyDude

I have Led\'s fitted on my dials, They are great, They are red and look stunning at night. Really Bright and clear, show off my custom dials perfectly

MarkoFu

Sound great. Where did you get them from? Any pictures?

They are, but the dimmer still works, so you can knock the brightness down.
I basically disassembled the cluster, removed the tinting, and fitted white LED\'s.
It was the biggest ballache ever :(

MarkoFu

Oh right. I had my dash out recently for spraying so I\'m pretty dapper at getting it out now. Is it that hard? I\'m quite keen to upgrade them somehow. Would you advise agaist doing it your way then? How hard is it to remove the tinting?

ashc

there is a good thread on rx7club about it - some people sand them with 1500+ grit, others use superglue remover and peel the old one off. Best to experiment a bit!

ive got some mazdaspeed indiglow dials on mine. they match up with the defi gauges pretty well and i dont get any problems with them :)
its a naf picture but it was taken with my phone.....

MarkoFu

That looks really good. I originally wanted white gauges on mine but thought it might be easier to modify the standard black ones.

How are your 3 gauges mounted near the glove box? Could you take a closer picture or two for me please? -My dash has a small rip in it above the glove box so i need to do something and really want to make something to have gauges there.

Thanks mate,
Mark

i had the same problem, someone had drilled some hole\'s above my glove box and i didn\'t want any dials on top of the dash or on the pillar so came up with the idea. i got the guy who works on the car to make it up.....
i dont have the car at the moment as im away, but heres another one for you....
there angled so i can see them from my driving position easier

MarkoFu

Nice work mate. Looks good. I\'m currently trying to fabricate a dual gauge holder to go in place of the centre dash vent. I\'ll let you know how it goes!
I\'ll probably get onto the ones above the glove box after that. What are your gauge holders made of?

Just noticed that you\'ve got the same gear knob as me. Although my lights have decided to only come on when you push the top down! If it\'s not one thing it\'s another!! lol :)
