Quote from: tinker-27;588688the brakes have been sold cheers craig,

Damn that\'s a shame...
Oh well, am assessing all options at the moment...

have you tried some proper brake pads we use carbone lorraine as they do a fittment for fds and they are very good and offer different compounds, these are real track day--race pads, then with goog lines and fluid should be good for track days, and make sure you have some ducting to the brakes, the guy that sells the pads is paul chance,07974153967

I think I\'m going to head down the route of a BBK, mainly to get increased disk size and maximise capacity to deal with generated heat and also increase pad surface area. Max disk size for my 17" wheels looks to be around 335mm from what I\'ve seen so far - thanks Andy for your input there.

There seem to be a lot of options out there though:

D2/K Sport ~£900 - Cheapest and seem to have some good write ups but am concerned about actual quality and longevity. Apparently perform well with Ferodo pads.

AP Racing 6 pots ~£1850 - Expensive but probably the best out there... Overkill?

Racing Brake via MRP ~£1400 - Seem to get very good write ups on rx7club with plenty of detailed design info and positive reviews. Also have a rear setup to balance out the fronts for £600. Tempting...

Hi Spec £? - Have seen both positive and negative reviews... Seem to have a lot of supporting distributors though.

Kad £? - Looks like 18" wheel fitment only

Any others worth considering?

I have the greddy 6 pot BBK and cant reccomend it highly enough.

What negatives have you heard about HiSpec Brakes?  They have over 20 years of experience of designing and manufacturing braking systems.  They make systems for a wide number of cars including the latest Porsche 997 410mm 8 pot calliper.

They don\'t go for gimmicks, they just work...and are currently doing so on a great deal of race cars in the UK, Europe and wider afield.

AP brakes are widely renouned...but why?  Their engineers don\'t have a cauldron and sit in pentagons whilst designing the brakes.  They are engineers that follow engineering practices....much the same way that Geoff and his team do at HiSpec.

Our 360mm brakes fit under 17" rims...but feeling like even bigger brakes...we can get 380mm under an 18" rim.
