Hi all! :Thumbs-up
Think it’s time I finally posted, having been a lurker for a while…

I bought Philo’s car from on here back in November last year having always loved RX7 FDs, wanting to use it as a weekend toy and track day car. I’ve been doing track days for a few years (started in an MX5) and spent quite a few days in 2008 renting Bookatrack Caterhams but always fancied my own track car to tinker with and the RX7s looked like an ideal choice.
Having bought Phil’s car, I went on a mini spending spree over Christmas and then booked it in with Kerim at Powergains to get it looked over and the following fitted:
-Full fluid service (engine/gearbox/diff oil, coolant and filters), plugs etc
-New brake disks, pads, fluid and braided lines all round
-New Pillowball (rhdjapan) and Powerflex bushes all round
-Powergains trailing arms and Fighters Garage (US) Toe Arms
-Tokico shocks and H&R springs with new OEM mounts
-Full alignment (Elite Direct)
-Air con removal to improve cooling/reduce weight
-OMP steering wheel and boss (thanks to ebay and r-tec in ffice:smarttags" />St Albans)
-Apexi ECU and commander (thanks to Whifbitz race car parts thread!) and remap by Jaydee
-HID headlights and Tiger cat back exhaust (thanks to Mazda Rotary Parts!)
-Front Mazda strut brace (good old ebay)
Basically I wanted to get the chassis sorted without spending too much money so that I’ve got some in reserve in case it needed any engine work. The bodywork is in pretty good condition, although there are some interesting wiring alterations which Kerim has been stripping out/sorting (cooling fans wired to air con relay due to poor earth which all stopped working when the a/c was removed!).
I’m aiming to give the car a shake down at Bedford Autodrome as it is local (if I can pass their noise regs) on 28th Feb and then am heading out to the Nurburgring with www.mazdaontrack.co.uk at the end of May (anyone interested, they’re keen for RX7s to join in…?).
I’ve already got the impression that the RX7 community is small but very close knit, so hope to see some of you around at events in the future!
Cheers,
Ross

Oh, here are some photos after a recent clean and polish:

I\'m in Baldock and I also work mainly in London - I couldn\'t afford to drive my car to work every day!

Cashpoint

Though I live in Hemel and work in St Albans only use the 7 at weekends. Cover to many miles to use the 7 for work. Mines going to Kerims too soon for ported rebuild clutch and larger injector read for single turbo later in the year.

Hi, I\'m in St Albans by the train station too! Welcome aboard

Hi! I see you\'ve installed a v8 in your RX7, would love to have a look at that some time if you\'re around! I\'ve come to RX7s from a couple of TVRs and have to admit I\'m missing the v8 torque/noise (had a Chimaera and a Cerbera) although I\'m fortunate enough to also have an Audi RS6 which is awesome in a straight line but lacks finesse in the bends...!

Cheers,
Ross
