where to start, i want Top mounts, damper and ride height adjustability. Now what coilovers are out there for the FC that offer this? Ive looked into teins etc, but they seem to have a bot a million different types, and i have no idea what each type does. So does anyone on here have a biblical knowledge of coilovers for FC\'s on here?

any info much appreciated :cheers

HSD from Driftworks. They even have some in stock for the FC3S I think, although FlikstRR has just bought some so they may have to order in.

I\'ve always found Tein a bit .... to be honest. I\'ve used HKS before, generic Megan Racing crap and I\'ve got Buddy Club Spec R on the PS13. The BC\'s are the best I\'ve ever had but VERY hard ride. I think I\'m going for HSD next.

dthebuk

but arn\'t the HSD\'s really expensive? Im only looking to spend £350-£400  i was under the impression they were alot more. Also i wont be able to find used ones as i havnt heard of many people with them

I saw those HSDs on driftworks this morning, they are a very good price for what you get, normally you have to spend over a grand for a good set, there are a few sets on ebay that are from japan, might be worth getting some of those HSDs.

dthebuk

the HSD\'s are nice, but just too pricey tbh.

Liams mate said he could get me some coilovers, i just need to know which ones are fully adjustable so he finds the right type :D

At £350-400 you will be buying either a.)crap or b.)used.

I\'m unsure as to what is better - brand new crap coilovers or used good coilovers. Probably good used coilovers.

HSD are well worth the dollar, and in the world of suspension very well priced.

I\'d go with a decent set of used coilovers for the money you have to spend. Just take your time finding the right set. Don\'t buy crap when it comes to suspension (that was the advise given to me when I was looking for some). I bought 2nd hand Tein rear and Kei office fronts for less than your budget. Granted they are not damper adjustable but they tick all the other boxes. Although they are a bit hard for road use really.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Did Paul (driftmotion) not have a set for sale when you saw him? I got mine off him.

err i don\'t believe he did. Emailing somone who can get used parts from japan, i ust don\'t know what model to go for for the coilovers tho, because not all teins are damper adjustable etc

Like I said, Id avoid Teins. Leaky soft crap in my experience.

Go for Kei Office/HKS/Buddy Club/Tanabe/GP Sports - the daddy of all for me are Silk Road RMA8 - I will own some one day.

dthebuk

was it a specific model of the teins or in general?

anyhu, i\'ll see what this guy can find :D cheers for the advice

Cant agree there, got a set on both my rex and my sti, and Im very happy with them, not sure which set they are as cant remember, but the ride is hard on both due to the setup, and no leaks on either set

Jord

I guess you\'ll find people on both side of the fence with anything, just my experience from hard track and drift use.

If you can find a nice set of 2nd hand Tanabe you\'ll be laughing around ever corner.
