Is there any sure way of improving the effectiveness of the handbrake on the rx7 FD3S? Without changing the unit for Hydraulic?

Many thanks

DMDRIFTING

Have new pads, before someone feeling funny suggests changing them :evillaugh

MaLicE

its better than a s14 one lol! tried tightening it???

i pmed you on driftworks btw

DMDRIFTING

Hey fella hope your well,

they just don\'t seem to bite like they should, have tightened up too, might need the pads bedding in, only want it to lock up the rears like a shift lock??

Dam it

MaLicE

project mu pads have the best bite and was the only pads that locked my s14 up

DMDRIFTING

Where can you purchase some Mu Pads for the FD?

Cheers

Bobbit

Have you tried lifting weights? Then you\'d be able to pull the handle really hard!
:Laugh LOL

As you mentioned about the bedding in then if these are new ones then definately bed them in first, especially if they are not new disks as well. Apart from that just allow the usual 3 clicks before they engage and that they actually hold the back wheels still when using the adjuster.

They are a complete bag of sh*t mate. You wont be able to make the FD oem handbrake effective for drifting, you deffo need a hydraulic and once you\'ve got one you\'ll never want to go back! Apart from the obvious extra handbrake they are pretty unobtrusive to fit, you just T into the brake lines and bring them in through a hole in the back or front.

The wonds are rubbish, but i have seen videos of people using the standard handbrake and having no trouble at all ! mu pads it is then ....

SiH

Project Mu D1 specs - DW sell them. if they can make he rears lock upon an S14, they can make them lock up on anything! :D

Its just false economy IMO. Sticky pads will help for slow stuff, narrow tyres, or when the rear is light anyhow but it wont be long before you come unstuck and wish you got a hydro, probably as you\'re flying towards some armco!

DMDRIFTING

Its the way forward, what sort of price can you pick them up for and where is recommend to purchase through?

MaLicE

fduk has a group buy on them...

or driftworks as said, they also sell hydro wands...
