does anyone happen to know the thread size of the banjo bolt that screws into the front plate for the oil feed to the turbo?  I *think* it is a 1/8 ntp size, but that doesn\'t sound right given everythign else appears to be metric...

Cheers

Yes it is NTP which apparently is an American derived thread that is used on Garrett turbos, so none of yer new fangled metric stuff is used

Not many places stock the correct thread pitch for turbos so most people wind "other" adaptors in.

Aye - it\'s not like the US to be the most helpful, eh!  I think it\'ll be metric, cos it\'s the banjo bolt that screws in to the engine block - and Mazda seemed to be all metric sized...  So as I have a -6AN braided hose of the right length, so need the hose ends, adapters and turbo flanges for the feed.

No affiliation, but have found Marv at //www.boostdaddy.com to be really helpful and reasonably priced.  More expensive than Jegs for the bits, but the delivery and communication is excellent.

Was that where you got your braided oil lines from for the engine to oil cooler hoses ?

They look mint on the car - was thinking about getting mine done at the next engine swap - be nice to have the lines ready to go in.

It was indeed...  The full list of parts were:
  • 1 x -10 45 Degree Hose End   ($14.75) = $14.75 (From front plate oil feed)
  • 3 x -10 90 Degree Hose End   ($14.95) = $44.85 (from rear plate, and two oil cooler connections)
  • 5ft -10 Stainless Braided Hose ($5.75) = $28.75
  • 1 x -10AN X 16mm-1.50 ($9.18) = $9.18 (adapter that screws into the front plate)
  • 3 x -10AN X 18mm-1.50 ($9.99) = $29.97   (adapter that screws into the rear plate)
and this is what the finished article looks like:

Assuming the size has not changed from FC to FD the thread size for the banjo that feeds the turbo line in M14 x 1.5mm

FD size is bigger Kev - probably because you normally have two hungry turbo\'s to feed :cool

Doh didn\'t read the properly 1/8 npt is the oil inlet for single turbo !

btw, what size is the correct size for a T04 oil feed?  I\'ve got the right length of -6an braided hose, but this seems to be large compared to most other oil feeds (-3an or -4an).  Any hints or suggestions welcome...
