Probably not relevant to most of you, but...

I\'ve got a Mazdaspeed catback, and still got the cat (for what it\'s worth). 310hp at the flywheel and my noise readings at Brands @ 3/4 rpm were in the high 80\'s db. Very quiet compared to most Rex\'s, and still more than enough to have fun with if you\'re learning. The instructor even commented on how fast the car felt :Giggle

Rob If it is quiet, cheap and not too restrictive I will have it! I will pm you my mobile number now.

Anyone else run one of these before? Anyone have an official db level?

Thanks
Ben

Quote from: DMDRIFTING;584747Don\'t mean to jump on this thread, Goodwood a pretty tight on noise levels, I failed the noise test after the briefing one morning, had to Portsmouth to borrow a bung from a Nur-Spec. Luckily it then passed!

Whats going on this coming Saturday? FD\'s only? I\'d love to come!

..............................................
Made 88db at the noise test flowed well still flamed every gear change !
was really pleased fitted ussed once and now smashed up in tyre wall!

My search now begins again.. doh

Quote from: Paul-Tll;576843Ive got a trackday at Goodwood next month and fingers crossed I\'ll be OK.
I got an R-magic center  box and recently bought this 2nd hand back box.
Not sure of the make but it is Much quieter than the old set up i had. You can see how large it is with the Mole grips sat on top!
Papercup are you taking part in the Stages at G/wood in Feb?
(Sorry for off topic)
Paul.

isnt that a kakimoto logo?

My Kakimoto isnt all that loud but very nice sound on boost :)

I say it isnt that loud coming from a Nur Spec on a MR2 and well on idle a friends 106 Rallye is louder (although it is cammed up)

When the car span it broke/bent the pipe in the midle, their are two kakimoto that I know of the big can type (loud) and the one I \'did\' have, might see if it can be repaired but looking underneath its folded on the bend?

Quote from: lockwood77;576857I had a 5Zigen cat-back fitted, not sure which model, that was fine - registered 92gb static at Cadwell and never had any problems at Donington (98db).

Bizzar.... Have you got the cat still on her?? I\'ve got the twin box 5Zigen cat back with a decat pipe & I\'m prety sure I can smash glass & shake tiles off tunnels @WOT :Giggle

Not sure how many are familiar with the newport tunnels?? but my bro was in his fiddled pulsar & gave it a good dose of WOT (rather loud) 100yds behind him I opend the taps, when we stopped he turned to me and said, "I could hear yours over mine & I had my windows down @ WOT" :p

cant you cut the fold out and wield back?
my kaki wasnt that loud on stock cat n downpipe but since i de-cat and got 3\'\' downpipe it is quite loud!
and thats just on idle.
maybe if you wrap the downpipe it might quiet down a bit?

Might be awkward on the bend, but thinking I might be able to cut it out and get a flexi section welded in. \'Plan A\'
meantime my \'R-magic\' loud pipe will go back on.
