Quote from: CHC;724856Sure did Ian :D:D - enjoyed restoring JAZ so much that I thought, why not. So I\'ll be picking her up this weekend - now project no. 3, shall have to think of a name for her.

Can\'t wait to follow the progress of her Cliff, you must be lucky think my wife would divorce me if I turned up with another one. :Giggle

looking forward to the new \'GOLDIE\' thread!
It\'s great to get a new project.... I\'ve done loads and still get a buzz out of fetching one home and getting stuck in!
Well done Cliff.... !!!

Quote from: daverey;724859Have watched this restoration with interest, pleased for you to be so happy, Jaz is now even better than the last time I saw it, so glad it did not end up forgotten in a corner.

Thats a very nice comment Dave and very much appreciated, it was such a pleasure to do even though at times it was quite intensive but most defintely worth it.
I\'m looking forward to the "Goldie" project now - probably in spring 2011.

Me too Ian, in fact my wife is also as this one will probably be hers.  As I have said previously, I really do like the lighter coloured rexs\', I think the shape suits them and they can be more readilly seen by the public - show them off I say.
JAZ was my 1st and most definitely will not be my last, roll on spring 2011 but will post photos on new thread coming soon !

At this particular moment yes ....... but ........
The thing is guys (and correct me by all means if I\'m wrong), once it gets into your system, apart from \'er in doors nothing else seems to matter.

Good Work Cliff...I\'ve got Goldies Reg but not the VIN.

The seller in Cheltenham is the one guy out of scores of other contacts that I seriously upset last spring whilst poking about for details. When you meet him tell him I\'m not the xanker he thinks I am. (I might be but that\'s just for me to know)!

No worries Dave, you soon will have that number and I\'m sure he didn\'t really think that but I\'ll talk to him anyway.
It\'s nice to see cars being protetced by true enthusiasts.

Oh by the way - Rossendale deal, l\'ve pulled out of, far to complicated and I think (unless somebody wants a track car rather than a roadworthy one) it will be scrapped.  It will probably be going back on eBay any day now.

ROTARYBANDIT

Hello!I just bought this 1980 for $500.It runs, but when the guy I got it from started it up it went to 4000 rpm and he gave up!So I took a chance, bought it,towed it home and found the problem. It was the hot start valve stuck open.I took the cable off and now it\'s only at 2000 rpm(he messed with the carb trying to fix it)but no worries,I\'m slowly going threw it and reading my Haynes man.I\'m 38 and this is my first rotary but I\'m already learning alot from reading these posts and the more I learn the more I LOVE this car!Anyway I just wanted to say hello.

Marcrs

Hi mate, and welcome :)

Oddly enough, I bought my FB at the young age of 38 too :D

It\'s hard not to fall in love with these things...I swear at mine quite often...but I\'d kill, or at least seriously injure, anyone that tried to take it from me :Giggle

Hi Bandit & welcome friend.
Very nice looking SA with a huge whip aerial (I take it it is a one piece unit)
Looks to be a RHD or are my eyes deceiving me ?  In Dallas ?

ROTARYBANDIT

Thanks everybody! It is a left hand drive 5 speed 12a.The last owner was driving it daily until just a month ago when the hot start thing got stuck.
Not knowing that he started adjusting the carburetor all over the place but as he told me,it didn\'t help.I found the problem and now I just need to reset the carb(undo what he did trying to fix it)lol.
I don\'t mind,I have a $500.RX7 with new tires, brakes, clutch and it even came with a new dash top!I\'ll be sure to post more pics soon.
What does everybody think about the sterling nikki?
