Quote from: don wyatt;722624Thanks Ian, so I need to look under the back Seat area, and behind the rear wheel for this issue. Daves pics on that thread are really useful.
Cheers Ian.

If it looks iffy, I may rerserve judgement for a more experienced guy.
presumably if rot is evident here (depending on the levels) it would not go through a ticket ? or what ?

Don.

It\'s a bit much work to pull the back the back seat apart at a viewing but in my view it\'s very important to get a good look behind the back wheels. Also an easy view is to peep over each wing and just look for cracks/rust on the front chassis legs at the steering box/ idler arm mounting points.
The rear floor and sills should be high on the viewing check list as well.

Hope it goes well Don.

Quote from: David Nock;721686Yeh, guy\'s going back to NZ by the sound of things, wants shut....looks like it\'s been his pride and joy. Full set of original wheels as well for the purist.

No bids again - now re-advertised with a start bid of £1000 (and a reserve price set)?

Looks clean enough but do you think that mileage is correct?. I know there is MOT history but 37,000?  :xconfused

David Nock (RIP)

Possible; One S3 was picked up in Bucks/Bedford? area a couple of years back and trailered to Scotland. Looked like a basket case with no MOT but it turned out milage was genuine at 29,000. Also original Dunlop tyres were still on it.....

Doesnt look that clean, check out the big hole in the rear arch.
Bodywork is king I always think, you could soon chuck another engine in.
Think he will be lucky to get 1k how things are at the moment.

Looks as though there might be corrosion around the drivers door hinge too.
I\'ve recently taken a full interior our of JAZ that colour.

Quote from: don wyatt;722619TMX could be that car guys couldn\'t it ? I certainly hope so, but the odds are against it, because of the shear reality facts of age.

I have a feeling TMX has led a garaged existance which will help, if it has been given an airing regularly.
Im clutching at straws and hoping its a minter guys, building up my little fantasies, wishing and a hoping...as the song goes.

Don.

all will be revealed, if its full of rot, it will stay there, and who knows where it will end up

Don

Well Don - last night of dreaming - all is about to be revealed.
Hope all goes well.

Youre shedding weight.:yes
Whats next interior out & bucket seats, plastic windows?:3gears-rh
ta stu..

captainbizzaro

Well I\'m taking the interior out to assess the condition of the rear end from the topside anyway so will see how the mood takes me, as it were! I know for a fact the fuel tank is not very healthy so fingers crossed for the rest. It looks fine from the underside though....

As for windows-I think that might be a bit extreme for what I\'m doing!
