just had this from the owner

]Year of manufacture - probably 1985.  The car was purchased in March 1986.
Mileage 54,000
Service history incomplete.
MOTs are complete barring 1991/2
MOT expires 13th April 2011
Road taxed until May 2011.
Model reference taken from the ID plate is FB.[/B][/I]

Does this sound right guys FB ? ?

Ian65

Sounds pretty good to me.
As already said, the main concern is body shell corrosion, if it\'s sound then this could be a very nice find.
There can\'t be too much wrong with it if it\'s got 6 months ticket on it.

FB is the model code.

FB = 1st generation
FC = 2nd gen
FD = 3rd gen

Cheers Ian, I am now armed with all the info I need thanks to you chaps.
Wish me luck. I have an appointment to view and test Drive, we have talked offers, and all looks positive. Prepare to add this one to the archives.

if these engines are 2.3, and the car looks relatively light, there must be a a fair amount of GRIN FACTOR, what was the original 0-60 estimated at.

I have looked up some of the info I have been supplied but cant find this, Im not lazy honest !!  :D

the cheshire cat will have nothing on you if you get behind the wheel of this car!
1st gens have huge grin factor. Most people who have owned one, love them. The power the rotary puts out in 3rd when you get it on the revs is seductive.
Push it through the red line, wait till the over rev buzzer goes off and then shift up.....great fun. ( don\'t do that on the test drive though!)

It\'s not really about 0-60\'s, bhp, torque etc, etc....

it\'s the whole package which is just so much fun...  light car, good handling, rear wheel drive, rotary engine.... you need to drive it ( and put it through it\'s paces) to get the buzz.

SOUNDS AWESOME !!

Can I use that word on here ? I am over 40 in fact, crap,  im nearly ?? :Hammer

Last time on eBay this one ended on 8th Sept and only made a top bid of 460.  So we\'ll have to wait and see its\' destiny.

If I was a local laddie Don I\'d say yes - alas I\'m probably 200+ miles away so a bit far to tell my boss i\'m just slipping out .......
Others of the MAG 7 will probably have already told you where to look for evidence of rust monkeys - floor pan from behind front seats to the rear (under rear seat), sills, inside rear wheel arches, petrol tank etc:
Good luck with the viewing and lets hope you come away driving an FB.
