is that the same stuff as this????

I do like that, but seriously I wouldnt use anything like that, give it a good few turns on the key to get the oil round first.

I agree, I would be wary of using this stuff in a turbo engine.
I\'d pull the fuel pump fuse and spin it a bit as Keith says to get the seals lubed up and the compression up before putting the fuse back in and trying to fire it up.
SU carbs are a bit intolerant to solidified petrol though. Mine was seized solid.

Yes, you\'re quite right about getting the oil circulated. I should have pointed that out but I took it \'as read\' I suppose.

You should crank the engine over for a while, ideally with the plugs out, to get the oil round first and compression up before trying to start it.

But as for aerostart, I keep a spray can on the garage shelf, just in case of a difficult very cold day in Winter when the car hasn\'t run for 3 or 4 weeks. \'Wizz wizz\' it should be called, because that\'s what happens. It goes. (At least with the straight-down-the air-intake-route it goes).

Turned over fine, gave it plenty of time for oil to renew itself with dry bits! could here fuel pump going ten for the dozen! did give it a whiff of the old easy start! fired 1st time, but turned off as didnt want to drag too much old fuel out of the tank. Carb clean time then fuel it up, a new battery and it will be off the key.
Will photo it when outside and washed off! and Ian you are most welcome to view the electricals etc, will mail you when out of store.

cheers

I vote for before and after pictures-everyones seen mine caked in crud from the winter lay up now it\'s someone else\'s turn!

Plus there is something a bit romantic about firing a car up that can\'t actually see out of. Or maybe it\'s just me.:cool

Congrats on the successful fire up anyhow.:wave

I remember it well, mine did start up after 11 years, but had no power because all the secondary jets were blocked, and that darn tar left after the petrol dries up, now that really sticks ..................
