Quote from: A7RXY;704648Ian, I do like your new Avatar, is that your actural car ?

Sadly no, my wheels aren\'t that clean!
It\'s just an image I found somewhere on the web. A US car I think....
the giveaway is the lack of a side repeater.
I like the \'arty\' look of it though!

:Giggle Aerials are overrated, I find that a bit of sponge wrapped in a carrier bag does the job just fine. The \'fancy\' ones seem to be like gold dust.

No, never noted it before. I would be interested to know what it\'s original Reg was before TDD. Also if you ever get chance to scan the Custom Car Mag article and either post it up here or email it to me I\'d be very interested in that as well. It\'s all a bit more history to add to what we know already.....

It\'s a Series 2 right? Because as you will know the Series changed in Spring \'84 to the S3\'s. There are a lot less S2\'s around for some reason.

Thanks very much....Dave....dgnock at btopenworld dot com.

PS email me if you want an Excel file showing known locations of 1st Gen cars within the British Isles. (very rough locations to protect people\'s privacy).

Hi
welcome to the forum, this is the place to be for 1st gen owners!
You could be the answer to my prayers!
I\'ve got a full Elford turbo setup that I\'m in the process of fitting to my 1984 series 2 car but I can\'t find any info anywhere on how to wire it up.

Here we go...
http://www.tech-leisure.com/index_files/Page880.htm

There is zero information available on how Elford did it and I\'m really struggling with it.

If possible, I\'d love a quick look under the bonnet of your car to see which wires go to where.
I\'ve got the control box and loom but god knows where it all connects to.

I\'m just doing a carb rebuild on mine too as it was all gummed up with sticky fuel residue.

There are only about a dozen Elfords left now I think in the uk so it\'s good to find another one.

Cheers,
Ian

Welcome Indeed Dave...... Second Shropshire 1st Generation car!
That\'s the rarity value now in some areas.

If it\'s any consolation Rotaries seem to take storage much better than Piston Engines.
Mine was nearly 8 years from new in a dealer\'s workshop but did start and has done 54,000 trouble free miles since.

A european car is on You Tube - shown starting after absolute yonks (16 or more years) sitting in a yard.

Get some \'aerostart\' spray before trying....can you access the air intake as easy on an Elford as on the normal 12A engine?....If you can then a quick snort in there should help matters along.
