Hi Ramonz,
Good to see new 1st gen fans on here.
Just a thought about your door that wont open, it is normally because the outside handle is stuck, if you prize it down then squirt some wd40 stuff in it to free it then open from the inside and job done.

Last owner 14 years, kept in garage - MOTs show approx 1600 miles travelled in that time. Been on SORN for about 12 years.

Will be back on the road in a month.

Fog lights will be lost...

Welcome to the forum, sounds like a nice car!

Quote from: Steve-M;678596Hi Dave,

C151 DYK, I bought it off ebay a few months back, bright green front over silver & no windscreen. Now in Bristol.

Welcome to the 1st gen forum Steve,
what was the story with that 2 tone paint job?
Are you going to keep it or go with the silver or the green?

Steve-M

Hi Ian, the previous owner repaired some rust around the windscreen area and wanted to put some paint on to stop it rusting, unfortunately he only had green paint but not enough for the whole car!
I was going to go back to silver and then possibly put some candy over the top but I do have a fair amount of kawasaki green and as there is green in every nook and cranny already maybe that\'s the way to go?
All suggestions welcome as I change my mind on a daily basis.

kawasaki green would look good.

Hmm, this one is interesting. It was spotted by Rotaryguru in Sept 2009 in South London with a lady driver. He tagged it as an S2, understandably.
Now the \'W\' reg given by DVLA to the car as an import dates to the Registration years only for Series 1\'s. The absence of the rear spoiler also suggests that it might be an S1. But the rear end and wheels say Series 2 loud and clear.
So I just don\'t know.
Anyhow, I like the look of it. I\'d like to try that auto...bet it\'s a bit weedy....but I\'d like to drive this car!!!
Very suited to London traffic thinks I.

pretty certain it\'s a series 2 david, rear aerial and light washers and all
the series 1 I had in aus had it embedded in the windscreen if i remember correctly and no washers for the lights. thou I am going back more than a few years here..

everything on that white car says series 2.
I\'ve never seen an s2 without a factory sunroof though, they were options on the S1 but i thought that they were standard on the s2 & s3.
Maybe the Aussie market models were different though.

RKK 326W, the red press car, was a series 2 on a \'W\' plate so the change over may have just caught the tail end of the \'W\'s
I\'d say that it\'s a very early S2

Yeah, on a ZX-6R!!
surely not on a 1st gen with a burgundy interior.
I think silver cars with the burgundy interiors look smart as do the white ones with the burgundy interior.
I can\'t  imagine Kawasaki green with that interior though. ( unless you\'re Austin Powers)
I vote for a return to silver Steve!

syebba

Haha,u & ur aversion to green.
Kawasaki green with grey interior would look good,a few on aus rotary like that.
It is a lairy colour,so each to their own,so steve you have 1 vote for silver & 1 for kawasaki green, that should make it a clearcut decision for you!
I will say if your restoring the car to standard i wouldnt do the green, but hey if your modding it?
