Depends what you want it for-if it\'s for a quick profitable sell on then I wouldn\'t bother as the market isn\'t up to it at the moment but like Ramon said if it\'s solid and you want a project then you got a good deal.

Hi thanks,
It is definately in very good order bodywise, I recall taking a step backwards when I saw it, with jaw open wide, it was that nice. (im quite excited as you have probably gathered)
Would you kindly give me a dummies production list for the rx7, or explain the difference between 1st, 2nd gen cars, and then the series? where did the series come into it?
Don.

don wyatt

and if anyone could upload a couple of pics showing the differences, that would be terrif.

Don.

Ok....1st gen Series 1 known as the SA has different rear lights so is easily recognisable.

1st Gen Series 2 recognisable by they\'re wheels-a 13" cross style alloy.

And the Series 3 most easily recognised by they\'re wheels too and they have little differences like vents low down on the front bumper

$h*t hot replies guys thanks everyone.
I reckon I have a 1st gen series 2 then.
I was hoping for a series 1, but I think I would have remember that rear end, its quite different. (shame)
I guess the series 1 is more sought after ? ?

Don, all 1st Gens are sort after providing they are in good condition but unfortunately (or fortunately depending which way you look at it) the prices for them isn\'t really that good.  I keep hearing people say \'oh in a couple of years the prices will more than double\' - but will they?
Either way I\'ll just keep enjoying while I can.

:cheers

Yeah there\'s not many series 1\'s left thats for sure but whatever series it is ask yourself the last time you saw another one on the road!

don wyatt

Yes very true chaps, you dont see them, Ive been looking at Porsche 924s, you see more of them on the road, but its a similar story with values, £1k - 2k buys you a cracking car.

and then there 1s the 240z of course. I bought one 6/7 years ago, and remember the z clubbers discussing values, moaning why the classic mags were only giving £8k values for a condition 1 car.
Try buying a condition 1 240z, for under £15k now.

there must be hope for the RX7 ? does it have a 240z pedigree ? Im not sure :)
don.

Welcome to the forum Don.
I put together a 1st gen RX7 \'e-book\' last month containing tons of info and buyers guides etc on the 1st gen rx7. It tells you basically everything you need to know about these cars.
You can download it for free by clicking on my website in my signature or send me your address to my email    ian08 at sky.com and I\'ll send you a copy on a disc.
