ahh Doms old car...fantastic car that....went out in that an all i can say is that its a fantastic piece of kit! surprised it needs a rebuild so soon though! it cant have been rebuilt too long ago and the engine was sweet as when Dom had it!

REW_D

Gandy - hi, and thanks for your comments..

Jit - nice to meet you mate.  I also was also very suprised that the engine needs a rebuild so soon.  The car was driven less then 500 miles in my ownership, before it collapsed.

Hopefully she going to be back on the road soon.

good luck with the re-built engine - had mine rebuilt in November after destroying it due to a water seal failure and a stubborn refusal to pull over straight away!

im half-way through the run in period and its not anywhere near as bad as i originally thought although it is starting to drag on a bit now..

There seems to be some issues that need to be resolved, firstly i was told by laeeq not to port engine, and with your power goal the ports that already exist in this engine are surely not up for the job for example the exhaust ports are standard. my main point of concern is warranty before any work takes place would like to make a point of letting you know that will not be giving any warranty with this engine apart from if the engine knocks, smokes and low compression. I think this is fair as i have know way of checking and testing various ancillaries, there clearly shows there is a problem somewhere as the front was completely trashed, a shame at such low millage. So as a result i feel that the person replacing and installing the engine should warranty it. I\'m noy willing to put my name and reputation to other peoples work. If this is a problem for you, your engine is ready to be collected i hope you can understand my point sorry for any miss understanding.

Hi Jay, i fully understand what your saying, thanks for clearing things up.  I\'m just about a give Laeeq a call now.

Hi Jay! Yes fair points here as i will be the one putting the block back together and put it back in the car and it will be my resposibility.  As long as you will give the warranty for engine knocks, smokes and low compression as said above.  Could you also please clearify that you will mape the car too as it will be your engine and should not be maped by others?

Cheers

doms old car or should i say sham\'s old car.

sorry to hear that its blown, i\'d consider it one of the more sorted fd\'s about.

tbh im fed up of hearing about engines going pop with a few thousand miles from rebuild its a sad thing which seems to be ruining the whole scene and rendering superb cars worthless.

hope you get it sorted.
fduk.

the engines are seriously strong and can take lots of abuse when everything is working right, if a part fails or people play about with them they blow quicker than you know

REW_D

Oliverash – Hi mate, good luck on your rebuild and I’m to glad to see that you have your car back on the road.

M4DRX – Hi Tharek, how you been? long time no see. I can’t believe my luck that the engine blew up so soon, but hopefully she will be back in action soon:yes.

I agree with Jason here, often people can be the cause with minor things being altered when everything is setup right,so if your are even altering an exhaust speak to a specialist first, also sometimes engines are said to have been rebuilt when they are clearly not,so wear and tear can be the cause. And alot of parts external to the engine are getting quite old now too,but it would be totally impractical to replace every ancillary to be like new as it would be prohibitively expensive.
