Hi All

I can not open the bonnet.

I can not release the bonnet hatch, the handle is loose but the cable is still attached.

Is there a way I can get to the hatch while the bonnet is closed?  Is this a job for a mechanic?

can you get under the front its a tight angle to release the catch with your fingers you need to not have any mesh in the front to reach it under the number plate ?

Thanks for that

Do you mean I have to take the nr plate off to reach it or do I go under the car and try to reach the cach that way?

If your car is stock it may be a very tight squeeze or even impossible to get to it from under the front bumper...

Micheal,

If just the catch inside the car is broken then simply use some pliers to hold the cable and pull, it will open like that but do it too many times and the cable will start to rupture, get a replacement asap.

I think i read it right that just the catch is broke in the footwell ???

The cable goes thro the fire wall just left/below of the master cylinder and is clipped to the body down by the turbos and then turns past the reservoir bottle and then up to the bonnet catch.

You need to find out which end the nipple has broken, sounds like the bonnet end.

Unscrew the bonnet release lever inside of the cab and pull on the cable to see if it is still attached or as stated previously, try and get up througth the grille and pull on the cable there or poke something up that will release the catch.

Good luck.

Mine touched the turbos and welded itself solid into the casing
