Hi, im due to get an Rx-7 in a month or two and wondered if there are any recommended garages for carrying out servicing and repairs on 3rd gen rx-7 in the UK. How much would it cost and where can I get hold of a decent manual??? Haynes manuals dont cover \'95 rx-7!

Hi there!

Check out our Links page for companies here in the U.K. http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/club_links/club_links.htm

I\'m not too sure on the servicing costs - best to give them a buzz.

For your manual, it is all online at //www.iluvmyrx7.com - brilliant site (has the proper Mazda factory manuals).
Thanks,

Hi Chris?

Again check out the Links page http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/club_links/club_links.htm.

Miguel at Newera is very good, I think he supplies quite a few companies here also with RX-7\'s.  He knows what to look for - as he is a mad RX-7 nut himself :)
Thanks,

mmilner

Hurley Engineering are in Coventry, (just off Foleshill Road), they built and installed my new 13b NA engine a couple of years ago. They charged £150 for a normal service during the guarantee period.

Just had a 24,000 mile/ 2 year sevice done and it cost £394 which includes brake fluid, transmission fluid and all the usual stuff. I had it done at rotechniks in Reading.

Fish

you could always take your car to DS Engineering. They can service your RX-7 for you.

They already look after a handful of 7\'s already.

Give them a call on 01322 387372.

thanks for the advice so far guys:D  need a little bit more advice on what I shud be lookin at, physically, to get an idea of what shape the car is in? what are the most common problems with the 3rd gen rx-7? how can i make sure the car is gonna last the distance???

HPI_UK

A compression test is a good thing to do, i\'ve been looking into this the last 2 days and have found a lot of info on it.  If you want any more info just ask :)

hello again!!! jus had a major problem with the dealer over the car i was originally after, it was reserved twice:(  but need sum urgent advice from sum people that know. what do u think a reasonable price for a \'95 type-RS with 56000 miles on the clock wud be?? its got sum mods but also has a suede interior (which sounds a bit dodgy to me!) cheers!!!

bnaellis

Interior is normal, nothing to worry about there. As far as what price to pay for a 95 rs with 56k  well the rs is second from top of the range of all the rx7 models for a 95 spec so they cost more to buy in Japan compared to the other models except the rz which was top of the range. Then it depend on what the condition if the car is in good nick with no previous accident history etc etc then they could well sell here in uk for 11k. Most importers of rx7 don\'t tend to purchase the rs or rz for this reason because in Japan rx7\'s hold their price well because they are so popular especially the top of the range models.
