As above really, if the airpump is disconnected electrically on a de-catted car.

If the car is de-catted then why not remove it althogether and save some weight.
Just disconnecting it shouldn\'t do much. Did that on my last 7 and it didn\'t change anything

Need to get a shorter belt and then it reduces mechanical drag cos it\'s not turning the pump pulley any more. If you remove it altogether, it\'ll save a fair bit of weight, they\'re chunky old things. Plus better air circulation under the bonnet due to losing all the plumbing and the pump itself. You need a blanking plate kit to cover all the holes it used to feed air into, though. And you\'ll probably fail the next MOT on emissions, and need to plumb it all back in again....:Giggle HTH!

mine can have an irratic idle if I disconnect the airpump. But just unplug it bud, see how it goes. This is what i did and was fine for a while but then the idle prob started to drive me insane and when i plugged it back in the car farted more! lol

If you remove it, does the Heat Warning light like to come up a lot on the dash?

I\'ve been decatted for years and had nothing, but now I\'ve removed the air pump the other week (blanking off as required) my heat warning light glows red permanently..

Didn\'t have that on either of the cars i\'ve had. The first one just had a decat and the pump was unplug. My new one has had the pump removed.
