Quote from: turbotoaster;709908but above you have said your adding spaces to push the wheels past the outer edge of the arches, if you didnt run the spacers you would be able to get much more tire on the car and in turn increase the lateral grip.

But like you say, your happy with it, maybe because i look at performance over looks is the reason i dont get it

yup good point toast but the way i see it is its the weight difference between an 8.5 j wheel and a ten isnt really that much  and the tyre foot print being an extra few centimeters i wont notice im not a profesional track racer so unsprung weight isnt that important in the equation nor do i notice more grip running a fatter tyre .i doubt any one would notice that its not like we all drive to the limit to work or to the shops every time every day  ! i drift the car with friends and show it at meets if track, weight and power were that important then the car wouldnt be as it is . its kinda at a happy medium and i like it there looks good goes good gets noticed .
if anything the car trams a little more but i like that feel. dull steering bores me . id love to build an all out power monster that handled perfect  but even in this i get carried away and id just end up on the news . i also like track events but i want to drive the car as much as poss and the way the roads are in england you cant have a perfect set up for long without hitting that first hole and then ya geometry is out .
and as sih said there are arguments for both i could lose the spacers and run a fat tyre but then id maybe get more grip but the drive would be softer larger tyres mean bigger side walls increasing boatyness in the bends ( not saying guys with fat tyres drive ocean liners before the band strikes up ) just not my thing . heres one for nik i like the ride stiff preffer the wider rims and like the way it sits . the intention wasnt euro just thought it would be a good look :Thumbs-up

Hear, hear, this has been the ethos of this club from day one :cheers

It up to the owner what he does with his own car, not anyone else, hell I build and drive yellow cars that are not to everyones taste but I build them for me and nobody else :p
All the best Clive

time for a thread revival as i havent been here much
so recently i decided to sort a niggle a small problem with my indicators working and then not ! rather frustrating i might add any ways so the hunt began

after alot of time and testing it turned out to be a dodgy solder on a relay so while i had it out i decided to bin off the second binacle and get the dash glove box and lower gear stick trim flocked .

also had the old turbo removed and a nice little garret gt35 fitted from haywards
recently had the car to a dyno day and on low map managed 359 bhp so not bad for a start .

have got a big meet coming up next weekend in wales and been asked to bring the car as two more mags want to feature it and sky want to film it so bit of a result

also testing out a new drift hd cam the misses got me works rather well lol

car is currently for sale for sensible offers as a new project is lurking

hi there, just watched the drift cam vid, very good drifting there... my question is though about the cam... Can you get some kind of sponge microphone cover to eliminate wind noise or is this something I have made up :Laugh... I see loads of vids on utube and thay a spoiled by the wind noise... yours is pretty cool though
