Real chocked to hear this so soon after purchasing the car,

Unfortunately this is the classic symptom of water seal failure,

If you get somebody else to start the car from cold cold and you stand around the back of the car with the palm of your hand a few inches from the exhaust tail pipe you will find that you get water globules on your hand and you will also smell the anti-freeze in the white smoke.

Hope fully one good thing is that where you have joined MRC you have received information quick enough to minamise damage and this is information you can pass back to the warranty company,

Armed with this information you can contact the company in the morning and investigate the warranty,

If they are unsure what your talking about, explain to them that water seal failure on a Rotary is the same as head gasket failure on a piston engine but the main difference is that the Rotary engine needs to be fully disassembled to renew the water seals,

Hope this helps but whist this will be inconvenient when the car returns you should then cover many trouble fee miles with a smile on your face every time you drive it.
All the best Clive

Thanks Clive

We have pretty much decided that this is the problem but will get Carl Hayward to diagnose it as I feel the dealer will not listen to me, but I dont think he will be able to argue with a specialist.

It is a pain but I hope it will all be sorted with minimal fuss.

Thanks for your advice.
