Hi Jurgen :)

The engine was built by Carl Hayward and mapped by Pip.  When the engine was rebuilt it had:
New Rotor housings
New side housings (Plates)
Good but used rotors
3mm Apex Seals
Competition Bearings
Race clearanced eccentric shaft
Major extend port
Dowelled

The engine was also balanced at build time

I must say big thanks to both Carl Hayward and Pip for their work which has been spot on.  Helpful & Friendly every time and always a good cup of tea at either workshop :)  Thanks guys!

The turbo is a Turbonetics T60-1 with an .84 hot side a/r and .70 intake mounted on a HKS cast manifold. 550/1600 Injectors managed by a good old Apexi PFC at the moment with a dual SBC handling the boost.  I\'ve also got a V-Mount intercooler setup and a HKS Twin Power Module.

Attached a pic of the engine bay.

I like your car, hopefully mine will look that good one day... (got the same rear bumper - not fitted it yet tho)

Monkey Man can you post up the Hubs figure as the two dyno graphs you have posted are in flywheel figures

Sorry Squire,

I\'m completely retarded....

antnicuk

thats very impressive for a very small 0.86 exhaust housing,   and suprisingly laggy looking at the graph.  125 bhp at 4000rpm,   Nice smooth power though, what boost is that running?
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Hey Antnicuk

It\'s running 14.65PSi of boost not going to push it any further than that at the moment.

Yeah the mid range is a little missing but I compared Jurgen\'s graph to mine and I make a little more power down low same in the middle and just a touch more at the top end.

I\'ve got my solution to improve the midrange already... looks a little like this

antnicuk

I think just about any high power rotary has that little bit missing in middle (unless bridges) but they make up for it at the top.  I bet it feels great on the road, especially with that small amount of boost.

Still amazed you got that much power through a 0.86 housing.  Must have a large turbine wheel.

Can anyone explain Pips graphs,  whats the difference between the yellow and the green reading?
is it 419 at the hubs or 434 at the hubs?
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

monkey-fd3s

According to Pip it\'s 434 at the hubs and the other graphs show the 503 fly wheel figure.

Strangely the turbo that came off (HKS T04R .96 A/R) was a lot "slimmer" this turbo is more has less height from flange to centre of turbine wheel but tis fat... so fat we had to notch the chassis leg into an L shape in order to get it to fit and re-profile the suspension mounts.

It does feel nice but it\'s the wrong time of year to be giving it hell :(

Is anyone else running a Motec system? I\'d like to install one of them in my car. I\'ve seen other cars run with them and the gain that be had from having such fine control of the fueling and all the other bits and bobs is quite amazing. So long as you can find someone good to set it up that is....

antnicuk

can it make up for lag and increase the midrange/lag just by tuning?
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power
